Thank God it's Pi Day

Distressingly for our geekier readers in the UK (that's most of you), Mother's Day last Sunday obliterated the fact that 14 March every year is international Pi Day - because March is the third month, and Pi to three decimals is 3.14. This means we missed out on seeing a clever Google logo with circles and stuff, in favour of a warm and fuzzy Mother's Day version.

On the other hand, maybe us Brits should get our own, separate Pi Day, which expresses the number using the DD/MM notation. Of course, that means that Pi Day UK would have to be on 31 April, which might cause a problem.
