Carbon footprint
On the same subject: "It occurred to me that we have 'cc' on emails," says Martin Robinson at Blackland Farm.
"From school, I remember that cc stood for carbon copy and if that is still being used so many years after I last saw a sheet of carbon paper, it seems that the floppy disk icon will probably be with us for ever."
In which case, with what can we replace "cc"? Perhaps "cma" could stand for "cover my a**e", which is more accurate from the sender's point of view (ask David Cameron if you're not sure what the asterisks stand for).
When receiving mail that has been "cma"ed to you, the field might more accurately be called "wc" (who cares?).
That is, unless you have a better suggestion?
