You're safe in the cloud

Is this article some kind of a joke?

It boils down to CIOs and CTOs being selfish instead of promoting what will benefit the business the most. Besides which, cloud services are highly unlikely to go down and leave users in the lurch. Usually the datacentres that act as the backbone for cloud services are professionally managed and have 99.9 per cent promised uptime due to high-level redundant storage, replication to other datacentres, triangulated ISPs, generators, dark fibre and the like. In a lot of cases there are substantial insurance policies in place as well, so there would have to be so many things going wrong for end users to suffer a serious loss of service that it's nigh on impossible.

The chap at Easynet is foolish to make such a rash, generic and narrow-minded statement.
