Woz opens the door for a return to Apple

Co-founder could come back

It seems that Apple's first (and arguably its most beloved) employee might be up for a return to the company.

Steve Wozniak revealed in a recent interview with Reuters that he would be open to considering a return to the company he co-founded with Steve Jobs more than 30 years ago.

Woz hasn't exactly been in isolation when it comes to Apple. He's a regular at company events and product releases, famously turning down invitations to jump the queue and get free products when new devices come out.

A return to Apple would most certainly be celebrated by long-time Mac fans. Woz is an icon among the technology world for his incredible engineering chops and his lovable geek personality.

But what would Woz do? Though a skilled engineer, he's more than a bit rusty as far as developers go. He has never really been much of an office type, so a move into management doesn't look to be on the cards.

But one thing Woz has always been is a man of the people. And that might be where Apple could use its co-founder. As we know, Steve Jobs has medical issues to deal with, and perhaps in the meantime Woz could serve as a public face, headlining events and shaking hands at the Apple store.
