Woz thinks Apple should eat more humble pie

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has decried Apple as "arrogant" during an interview with South African tech site TechCentral.

"Part of me wishes Apple had not been so arrogant and feeling like 'We're the only one with the right clue'," Woz said in an interview with TechCentral.

Wozniak's arrogance quip comes while calling out Apple's screen-sized hubris. The tech legend says that the new 4in iPhone 5 screen just isn't big enough.

According to Woz, the larger screen was Apple's attempt to play super-sized styled catch up with the likes of Android. However, he believes it's still too little too late.

"I think Apple tricked itself by saying 'Oh, you can reach everything with one thumb.' And I don't see anybody having trouble using the larger screens," Wozniak opined during his wide-ranging interview.

"But Apple said that as a defensive move because everyone else had larger screens."

The outspoken Apple founder has never been one to hold his tongue, and this time he said what many are thinking: Is Apple getting too arrogant for its own good?

While Apple has never been known as a humble company, its arrogance may finally be catching up with it. Lawsuits' claiming it's the mother of invention, maps that don't work, and morally questionable supply chains are just some of the things painting Apple with a dangerously egotistical hue.

Arrogance has never been in short supply at Apple. The company's other founder, Steve Jobs, was the king of hubris. During his tenure at Apple he even blamed consumers for spotty iPhone 4 reception. Of course, arrogance is ok when everything is going right.

With Android slowly becoming a real contender in the mobile market it may be time for Apple to slow down on the holier-than-thou style antics. It made a nice start when current company Chief Tim Cook apologised for the Maps fiasco. But if it wants to continue its trek towards global domination it's going to need to eat a little more humble pie.
