More broadly, why are events like this important?
“Personally, for me events like this are crucial for several reasons. Firstly, they highlight the importance of diverse perspectives in the tech industry and showcase environments where everyone feels valued and included.
“By showcasing role models and success stories, these events inspire young people, especially women and underrepresented groups, to pursue careers in technology. They also provide a platform for attendees to connect, share ideas, and collaborate on projects, which can lead to innovative solutions and career opportunities.
“Workshops and interactive sessions help attendees develop new skills and gain practical knowledge that can be applied in their careers. There is also space or delegates to share their experiences, seek advice, and find mentorship, which is essential for personal and professional growth.
“Events like this also help to raise awareness of the challenges and barriers faced by underrepresented groups in tech, encouraging industry leaders to take action and implement positive changes. By addressing critical issues and promoting best practices, these events help drive systemic change within the tech industry, making it more inclusive and equitable for all.
“Overall, such events play a vital role in shaping a more diverse, inclusive, and innovative tech industry.”
