A woman is planning legal action to challenge a new format for drivers' licences because she claims they are a back-door method for the government to introduce universal identity cards. Lois McInnes says drivers' digitised photos and signatures will be stored in government databases, and that legislation clearing the way for the new licences was rushed through without a full privacy assessment.
