Newsquest opts for Great Plains

Newsquest Media Group, a publisher of regional newspapers, has bought Great Plains Dynamics C/S+ financial management system from Deloitte and Touche. The £100,000 Dynamics package replaces a non-millennium compliant, mainframe-based system. Mike Kerr, Newsquest's financial systems director, said he expects the system to speed financial reporting, enabling Newsquest to calculate its financial position for the year at the end of every month. The combination of Deloitte's experience and the Dynamics software clinched the order, said Kerr.
