Austin Knight clocks 75 years
Austin Knight celebrated its 75th anniversary by raising more than #43,000 for the British Red Cross from various fund-raising activities. The company started out in 1921 as a product advertising agency. It switched to recruitment in 1937 and has hardly looked back. It has grown steadily, diversified into selection and consultancy services and expanded overseas. Its anniversary celebrations culminated on 30 October in a charity ball at the Dorchester in London, where a cheque for #43,254 was presented to the Red Cross. It chose that particular charity because the Red Cross was instrumental in keeping Austin T Knight alive during the war. Knight flew bombers, was shot down and became a prisoner of war.
