Jetform aims to attract big accounts
Jetform has purchased the electronic forms division of Delrina, a subsidiary of Symantec, in a deal that should make Jetform products more attractive to high-volume customers.
Under the terms of the $100m acquisition, Jetform is entitled to ownership and rights to Delrina's electronic forms business products and technology, as well as access to the company's current electronic forms and workflow customers.
The agreement will double the customer base of Jetform, an electronic forms software vendor, and will allow the company to build on Delrina's relationships with high-volume customers, such as the federal government.
Scott McCreedy, a principal analyst at IDC, said: "The bigger you are, the easier it is to sell yourself to large corporate customers."
John Purden, vice president of marketing for Jetform, said the deal would boost company growth. "Jetform has been growing the business at a steady rate of 60 per cent a year during the past five years. This acquisition will catapult the company forward about a year or two."
"Delrina's strength is in designing user interfaces. That will complement Jetform's strength in Web capabilities and server-based output management capabilities," Purden said.
"Both companies will maintain electronic forms and workflow as their core competencies."
