Atos Origin to provide IT services to Scottish Criminal Case Review Commission

The contract is for service desk, desktop support and networks management in addition to datacentre and security services

IT services company Atos Origin has signed a contract to provide shared services and IT to the Scottish Criminal Case Review Commission (SCCRC).

The SCCRC is a public body responsible for reviewing and investigating Scottish court cases where an alleged miscarriage of justice has occurred.

By the end of this year Atos Origin will provide a full range of IT services including service desk, desktop support and networks management in addition to datacentre and security services.

The agreement will run for two years, and follows the successful implementation of Skills Development Scotland and Scottish Enterprise's IT services by Atos Origin.

Steve Langmead, vice president Scotland, Atos Origin, said: "This is a significant step in terms of contributing to the Scottish government's drive for efficiencies through shared services.

"Through this contract we are reducing the cost of the IT service while improving the benefits realised by the use of our technology. The flexibility and scalability built into the shared services solution means that we can accommodate new services and other non-departmental public bodies on demand."

Atos Origin currently delivers its IS capability across Skills Development Scotland and Scottish Enterprise's 118 sites throughout Scotland and across the globe.
