HP extends datacentre services to design and construction

Everything from bricks to servers

HP has announced a turnkey service offering design, construction and project management for datacentres.

The Critical Facilities Implementation service (CFI) can lower clients' cost of ownership by providing a one-stop shop for all the elements of building a datacentre from start to finish, says HP.

"Constructing a datacentre is an enormous undertaking for any business, and taking an integrated approach with a single vendor will help maximise efficiency, while reducing headaches," said Dave Cappuccio, research vice-president at industry analyst firm Gartner.

HNA Group, a transport, tourism, logistics and financial services conglomerate in China, has already availed itself of CFI.

"As our business portfolio continues to expand, we needed to quickly create a new datacentre that complied with international standards," said Li-Chao Tang, IT general manager at HNA. "HP provided us with end-to-end support for our new facility, allowing us to open as scheduled."
