Verizon customers revealed as victims of Epsilon hack

The contact details of Verizon customers were obtained by hackers in the recent Epsilon breach

Verizon Communications has told its customers that their contact details were among those hacked in the recent Epsilon data breach.

Last week a hacker successfully infiltrated email marketeer Epsilon's network, gaining access to the email address lists of up to 50 companies.

In its email to customers yesterday, Verizon said: "Epsilon has assured us that the information was limited to email addresses, and that no other information about you or your account was exposed.".

Customers of several major banks including Citibank, JP Morgan and Capital One were affected by the attack.
