BAA set to implement new ID centre booking system

To be used by more than 50,000 staff

BAA Airports has signed up to an ID centre booking system to be used by more than 50,000 employees across its six airports, including Heathrow.

The web-based system has been made by Cumbria-based development company Meantime IT, which has a three-month deadline to complete the project.

It will be used to distribute new or renewed identification licences required by all airside and landside BAA staff.

This will include those working for contractors and concessions within the airport sites.

"We had a very tight deadline on the delivery of the system and as such, it was essential that we appointed an IT company that was not only able to provide a robust, reliable system for a competitive price, but that also had the ability to deliver within a very short space of time," said Lynn McNichol, BAA project leader.
