Toshiba to launch Thrive tablet PC

Japanese firm the latest to bring a tablet device to the market

Toshiba is to jump on the tablet bandwagon next month with the launch of a 10in device called Thrive.

The tablet provides Wi-Fi connectivity and not 3G. Toshiba has said that the device is designed for use at home.

It runs on the Honeycomb 3.1 version of Google's Android operating system and has an HDMI port as well as USB connectivity.

In addition, there are also third-party apps on the device aimed at business users, such as QuickOffice and LogMeIn.

The Thrive goes on sale in the US on 10 July, with pricing starting at $429 (£263).
