BNP Paribas goes open source to manage client data

Real estate firm takes on Talend solution

Real-estate services provider BNP Paribas has taken on an open-source solution from Talend to manage its client database.

The company is using Talend Integration Suite (TIS) to help the firm maintain accurate client data that can be accessed by clients and exported for reporting.

The firm said that it opted for the open-source solution as based on a flexible platform giving BNP Paribas the capability to build its own integration processes internally.

The "dramatically lower cost" of the solution compared with using proprietary software was another advantage cited.

In the UK, BNP Paribas Real Estate offers its clients a range of real-estate services.

"We no longer need to create databases and reports. Talend Integration Suite has removed the headache from this. It has also eliminated the chance of human error, meaning we can rely on the data we hold and provide to our clients," said Anthony Shama, head of software development at BNP Paribas Real Estate.

BNP Paribas has 3,300 employees in 150 offices across 30 countries in Europe, the Middle East, India and the US.
