Sage ERP X3 to rev up efficiency at Marussia Virgin Racing

Formula 1 team invests in solution to increase efficiency, collaboration and business insight

F1 team Marussia Virgin Racing (MVR) is to implement an enterprise resource planning solution from Sage called ERP X3.

The solution will go live this month and will integrate all of MVR's business functions and departments.

The Sage solution will control inventory, stock management and finance in addition to project and job costing.

MVR also hopes the solution will give it further business insight as it will provide an overview of the company's operations.

Kevin Lee, operations director at MVR, said the system will greatly simplify operations at the team.

"Before investing in Sage ERP X3, MVR was operating a number of disparate IT systems. We felt we needed a centralised ERP solution that would manage all the products and thousands of parts that we deal with," Lee said.

"Sage ERP X3 offers an end-to-end business management system that can break down departmental and geographical silos, it will help us be more efficient," he added.

Sage ERP X3 was initially selected in August 2011 following a tender process.
