Salesforce snaps up cloud consulting firm
SaaS pioneer to buy Model Metrics for undisclosed sum
Software-as-a-Service pioneer Saleforce.com has reached an agreement to buy cloud computing consulting firm Model Metrics for an undisclosed sum.
Model Metrics provides services for businesses looking to accelerate their use of cloud computing services and social media. It has more than 600 customers worldwide including high-profile firms L'Oreal, MasterCard and NBC Universal, and has been involved in upwards of 1,000 Salesforce deployments, according to the firm.
“The addition of Model Metrics' mobile and social expertise will accelerate Saleforce.com's ability to lead the shift to the social enterprise,” said George HU, chief operations officer at Salesforce.com in a statement.
Mobile Metrics has previously developed business apps to run on both iOS and Android-based smartphones and tablets and also provided tools enabling users to access Saleforce.com data when offline.
The deal is expected to close by the end of Salesforce.com's financial year.
