Rosslyn platform will cut costs for NSPCC
The platform's in-built invoice checker and spend visibility function will help it save money
The children's charity NSPCC will use business intelligence software provider Rosslyn Analytics' spend analysis and contract management platform.
The platform will save the charity money and time, according to Chris Richfield, NSPCC's head of procurement.
The platform is cloud-based and will be used in conjunction with the NSPCC's existing financial and purchase order systems to obtain, manage and report data.
Richfield said the tool's spend visibility function will mean the charity will see where it can cut costs.
"This means that instead of the laborious task of pulling out invoices and suppliers individually and rebuilding the data, the Rosslyn system has an in-built invoice checker allowing us to search grouped payments and invoices – this can help with budgeting," he continued.
Richfield said the implementation of Rosslyn took under two hours and that it was far more flexible than the old purchase order and finance systems.
"We still use an old finance system and above that a purchase order system, neither of which allows us much flexibility. Rosslyn provides this as it helps us manage our future needs without affecting primary source data. We can manipulate data to get visibility over spending without doing an enormous amount of work," he said.
Richfield also said that although the NSPCC hasn't calculated how much it will save, he is optimistic the platform will make an impact on savings. He added that the bigger picture is for the money saved to be used to help protect children.
"The amount of time and cost we will save can go into our work, and that is what is most important," he said.
