Standard Life selects BT for £30m outsourcing deal

BT's five-year communications infrastructure agreement with Standard Life includes WAN and LAN delivery

Savings and investment provider Standard Life has selected BT to manage its communications infrastructure in a £30m deal.

The five-year agreement includes the delivery and management of a local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN). It will also cover IP telephony, contact centres, contract management, service management and the switch to BT's IP Connect network infrastructure.

In addition, the deal supports a standardised and integrated voice and data platform across its international offices. This is to enable domestic and international network services to be provided to the company's 16 UK offices and across many of its global centres.

Paul Chong, Standard Life's group IT and commercial director, said the savings and investment provider chose BT because of its track record.

"BT understands our infrastructure and has vast experience in delivering complex domestic and international networking and outsourcing services.

"This network transformation will enable us to provide the highest standards of service to our customers, delivering on our commitment to provide them with a seamless global service," he said.
