HTC unveils One SV smartphone with 4G access

Will debut on EE in coming weeks

HTC has announced a new Android smartphone, the One SV, which can support 4G services and will be available on EE in the coming weeks.

As well as support for EE's 4G network, the HTC One SV features a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a 4.3in S-LCD 2 screen.

However, the phone arrives running Google's now-dated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich mobile operating system, with no mention of an upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The phone also comes with a 5MP rear-facing camera with a f/2.0 backside illuminated sensor and HD 1080p video, a 1.6MP front-facing camera, integrated Beats Audio technology, up to 32GB of internal storage and NFC technology.

HTC has furnished the phone with its typical Sense user interface skin, alongside perks such as free Dropbox storage and SkyDrive integration.

"The HTC One SV heralds the next generation of smartphone performance and lightning fast mobile internet," said HTC chief executive Peter Chou.

"We're delighted to help fuel the spread of 4G LTE networks worldwide with models that enable our customers to enjoy web browsing, movie streaming and internet radio more quickly and more smoothly than ever before."

There's no word on pricing or availability yet, but it's unlikely to arrive in time for Christmas, despite the firm looking to stem its tough financial losses in the past year.
