Samsung Galaxy Tab 8 inch details leaked as firm grabs 95 per cent of Android market
Even Google capitulates with pure Android S4 introduction
Samsung's mobile division seems to have let another device slip through the spoiler net, with a new leak revealing what appears to be an 8-inch variant of the Galaxy Tab.
If confirmed, the new model will sit alongside Samsung's existing 7-inch and 10.1-inch versions of the Galaxy Tab 2.
Apparently known as the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, the device, as reported by Sammobile.com, will run Android 4.2.2 "Jelly Bean" and be powered by a 1.5GHz Dual-Core processor.
Meanwhile, as Google announced a further version of Samsung's Galaxy S4 that runs the pure Android OS without Samsung's TouchWiz interface extensions at its IO conference last week, stats emerged from Strategy Analytics showing that Samsung's share of total Android profits in Q1 2013 was a staggering 95 per cent.
The second-largest Android smartphone maker, according to Strategy Analytics, is LG, whose Google-sanctioned Nexus 4 was the first regular-size smart device to run Android Jelly Bean.
Strategy Analytics' data also suggests that Android now accounts for 43 per cent of the entire smartphone market.
