Christmas - saved: A video interview with Santa's CIO

Rudolph may guide the sleigh, but this guy's co-ordinating a big-data revolution 2,000 years in the making.

There aren't many CIOs who could make a legitimate argument for doing the majority of their work for just one day of the year and spending the rest of the year sipping brandy and shouting at elves.

But then this CIO is a little removed from the norm. Providing the IT function for an operation that delivers presents to hundreds of millions all over the world in just 24 hours (sort of - the maths gets complicated) and, more specifically, rolling out a big-data project that breaks physical and dimensional laws, Karl has been busy.

Watch Computing Editor Stuart Sumner's exclusive interview with Santa's CIO Karl, on location from the heart of Santa's Lapland-based corporate empire.

Then consider: could you replace Karl? What would the ideal candidate need?
