Coca-Cola gets collaborative fizz out of Box
Drinks giant signs 22,000-seat deal with cloud tools vendor
The Coca-Cola Company is deploying Box’s cloud collaboration platform internally to 22,000 employees, according to an announcement from the vendor. The deployment will also allow staff to liaise with external companies, partners and customers.
The beverage giant’s intention is to streamline the digital marketing workflow both inside and outside the organisation, as well as to develop, share and approve large video, image and audio files for advertising and marketing purposes.
Cross-platform and cross-device connectivity is the new battleground for cloud collaboration tools, with Box just one of many vendors that are competing to offer connectors to popular business apps.
“Our success depends on our ability to connect with consumers by providing them with a wide variety of options to meet their desires, needs and lifestyles," said Alan Boehme, global CTO, The Coca-Cola Company.
"In order to achieve this goal, our employees must be able to execute and innovate effectively, at anytime and from anywhere.”
Aaron Levie, co-founder and CEO of Box, said: “As the world’s largest beverage company, The Coca-Cola Company has been on the cutting-edge of leveraging technology to develop a demand-driven supply chain and cultivate direct relationships with customers worldwide.
“They’re applying that same passion for innovation to their IT strategy, providing employees with better access to information, and ultimately driving more productivity and collaboration company-wide."
Among Box's other blue-chip clients are AstraZeneca, GAP, Procter & Gamble, Live Nation, and film giant Legendary Pictures.
