Top 10 most read: Michael Dell talks EMC deal, HP splits and da Vinci Jr 3D printer review

Top stories from the past seven days on V3

It may be a few weeks since Dell announced its mega $67bn deal for EMC, but when Michael Dell rolled into town to discuss the deal V3 was there to hear from the man himself, and clearly readers were keen to know what he had to say.

Another story of note was from Coke CTO Alan Boehme, who explained why he's looking to innovative startups to meet the firm's cloud and IT needs, rather than turning to the old guard, who he said have struggled to innovate at pace.

One company hoping to shed this perception is HP, which has split into two entities - HP Inc and Hewlett Packard Enterprise - in a bid to be more agile and innovative.

On the review side, V3 had a lot of fun playing with the XYZ da Vinci Jr 3D printer, and we were (mostly) impressed with what it churned out, especially given its relatively small price tag.

Meanwhile, the V3 Big Data Summit generated numerous stories and other content, with news of the launch of the "big data observatory" at Imperial College London of particular interest.
