Android 7.0: When will the update arrive on your phone? Sony, Samsung, BlackBerry, HTC and more
All the information on when Nougat will arrive on other Android handsets
The Android 7.0 Nougat update is now being rolled out to Nexus devices, bringing several new features and functions.
However, the wait for the update may be a little longer for owners of other Android devices such as those from HTC, Samsung and even BlackBerry.
With that in mind, V3 has put together a handy schedule of when you can expect Android 7.0 to arrive on your device. We'll update this article as soon as we get more details.
BlackBerry
BlackBerry hasn't yet confirmed when owners of the BlackBerry Priv or DTEK50 will receive the bump to Android 7.0, but the firm has promised a boost in device security when the update eventually arrives.
Google Nexus
You'll almost certainly be upgraded to Nougat within the next few weeks if you own one of Google's Nexus devices.
Supported devices include the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player and Pixel C, along with the little-known General Mobile 4G Android One handset.
2013's Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 tablet won't be supported by Android 7.0, which shouldn't come as much of a surprise given that neither device was included in Google's beta testing programme.
HTC
HTC has pledged to bring Android 7.0 to supported devices within 90 days of the software's launch, i.e. 20 November. A full list of supported devices isn't yet available, but the firm has said that the new OS will come to the HTC 10, One A9 and One M9 handsets.
Huawei Chinese firm Huawei has yet to confirm its Android rollout plans, but it's likely that devices such as the Huawei P9 and P8 will receive the update later this year.
LG
LG's V20, set to arrive in September, will be the first smartphone to run Android 7.0 out of the box. However, the firm has yet to say when Nougat will begin rolling out to older devices.
Motorola
Motorola is typically among the first to start the updating process given that its Android devices lack much of the bloatware seen on other handsets. We've yet to hear official word from the firm, but Nougat is likely to arrive on the company's supported handsets within the next two months.
OnePlus
The OnePlus 2 didn't receive Marshmallow, so it's unlikely that the firm has a speedy Nougat rollout planned. We're awaiting official information.
Samsung Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Note 7 will be upgraded to Nougat within "two to three months", so by November at the latest. All of Samsung's newest phones and tablets are expected to receive the update, but the company hasn't yet revealed any more details.
Sony
Some Sony handsets are still awaiting an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, so it's unlikely that Android 7.0 will arrive anytime soon. Sony has yet to confirm its rollout schedule.
