RSA appoints new group CDO
Steven Zuanella will report directly into group CIO Darren Price
Insurance group RSA has appointed a new group CDO, who will report into group CIO Darren Price.
Steven Zuanella, until recently chief digital officer for rival insurance group Zurich, will be responsible for leading, shaping and driving the execution of RSA's digital strategy.
Commenting on the appointment, Price said: "I'm pleased to appoint Steven to my team. He brings a deep understanding of the digital world and financial services expertise. We look forward to leveraging Steven's industry experience and knowledge to help us realise our ambition to become a digital leader in the insurance industry."
Zuanella said: "I am delighted to be joining RSA at such an exciting point in its digital transformation journey. I am very much looking forward to working with Darren and the Executive to make RSA a true digital leading light in the insurance industry."
Back in July Price told Computing that he was searching for a CDO for every region in which the group operates. It has been seeking a group CDO since previous incumbent Ian Hood left in 2015.
Explaining the duration of the recruitment process, Price commented at the time that he was waiting for the right candidate to appear.
"The group always wanted to attract a top quality CDO. We wanted to ensure we got the right person, and not rush it, so it's taken a lot of time," he said.
RSA is currently in the midst of a widescale digital transformation programme, involving the decommisioning of most of its technology hardware and infrastructure.
