Masergy partners with cloudpipes on "global UCaaS" solution

Promises connection for 150 cloud and SaaS applications

Managed security and cloud unified communications firm Masergy has announced a partnership with workflow automation company Cloudpipes in the hope of extending "cloud connectivity options" for its "global UCaaS" (unified communications as-a-service) solution.

With this, Masergy reckons that its customers can now connect over 150 cloud and SaaS applications to its platform, all via a "drap-and-drop, visual designer".

Masergy says the resulting functions will allow its API to reach "potentially any cloud application," listing Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Slack, Google Docs, Twitter, Hubspot, Basecamp and several other big name products, and even citing the possibility of integrating with artificial intelligence "such as IBM Watson".

Other beneifts, the company says, include broadening computer telephony integrations (CTI) "such as screen pops" - pop-up windows that list caller information on VoIP calls - with "a greater variety of cloud applications".

It also mentions the ability to automate provisioning of UCaaS users "with triggers" from Microsoft Active Directory or "many SaaS HR applications".

"Masergy is putting true business process automation into the hands of the actual application users," said VP of product management for UCaaS at Masergy, Dean Manzoori.

"Business managers have unique insights into how data is best leveraged to support their business and to respond to market changes quickly. Our partnership with Cloudpipes lowers the barrier for our customers to innovate and enables the creation of business macros without the need for a software development team or third-party professional services."

Co-founder and CEO of Cloudpipes Boris Raicheff said he's "excited" about the Masergy partnership.

"Masergy is the first global UCaaS company to offer seamless business process management and workflow automation capabilities with Cloudpipes," he enthused.
