Zurich extends deal with DXC Technologies to support digital transformation plan

Partnership between DXC and Zurich extended to 2022

Zurich Insurance has extended a services deal with DXC Technology, formed earlier this year via the merger of CSC and the Enterprise Services unit of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, to help it carry out its digital transformation project.

The five-year extension to the Master Services Agreement, a deal struck in 2009, will make DXC Technology Zurich's Preferred Systems Integrator.

The agreement will help Zurich to continue its IT modernisation program. The company will adopt DXC's 'hyper-converged private cloud', with the two companies working together to minimise in-house owned and operated hardware, in addition to reducing costs and server provisioning time.

"Market differentiation is key in today's global insurance market. We need a committed technology partner who can scale alongside us and support and accelerate our strategy," said Thomas Kropp, Zurich's chief IT services officer.

"We want to offer our customers innovative, convenient products and services quickly and cost effectively. Our decision to extend the contract with DXC signals our ongoing pledge to invest in the agility and modernisation of our systems for our customers."

DXC says they have enabled Zurich's delivery of applications and services to more than 210 countries and territories.
