Cyber security solutions: time for an end-to-end approach?

Best-of-breed may meet immediate needs but it can cause integration and management problems and security holes

Cyber security professionals are responsible for managing increasingly complex IT estates, with employees now spread across different locations and accessing the network via unsecured devices.

Their job is not made any easier by the threat of ransomware and double extortion attacks, which have increased in frequency over the past 12 months, as well as an ongoing security skills shortage.

As a result, many security teams have found themselves stretched thin, with the capacity to respond to alerts as they happen, but unable to take the preferred proactive approach to cyber threats. In short, while maintaining a robust cyber security infrastructure is crucial to every business, the professionals responsible for this important task are struggling to keep up.

Cyber teams have a wide range of security tools at their disposal, but the best-of-breed approach adopted by many organisations has resulted in a confusing array of different solutions, which can be complex to manage and do not integrate. In this context, many are now looking to automated threat detection and resolution and end-to-end solutions as a way of tackling the evolving threat landscape.

Join us on 8th July for a Computing web seminar Tackling the changing cyber landscape with end-to-end solutions, during which, supported by bespoke research, we will explore the challenges faced by today's IT leaders and the strategies they are using to combat the rise in cyber threats.

We will ask whether the tools cyber professionals are currently deploying are meeting the needs of their organisations and debate whether a different approach is needed. Finally, we will look beyond the Covid-19 pandemic to understand how the threat landscape could change in the near future.

Web seminar Tackling the changing cyber landscape with end-to-end solutions is live at 3.30 pm BST on 8th July. Register today!
