Steve Woodward

Part of the IT Leaders 100 - a list of the most influential IT leaders in the UK in 2023.

Steve leads Blockchain Strategy for international mining giant Anglo American, working across the group to coordinate and align blockchain projects. As a new technology, this involves heavy amounts of innovation and creativity.

Steven is responsible for working inside and outside the group to act as a thought leader, visionary and evangelist - leading strategic and commercial debates, speaking at conferences, writing white papers and hosting Blockchain forums.

A firm believer in early talent and lifelong learning, he mentors the Apprentice and Graduate programmes on blockchain, data and cloud strategies, championing inclusion and diversity within teams, speaking about women in tech, and embedding the culture of lifelong learning.
