How did you get into IT?

I started off in marketing with my first role as doing direct marketing. That was at a time that Digital Marketing/E-commerce was starting to really take off, and I quickly got into the technology/digital and data side, which I found was my true passion!

What do you consider your greatest IT achievement of the last 12 months?

My greatest achievement was the level of digital & technology transformation we achieved at Diageo with an amazing team in a great business. It was probably one of the best roles of my career, and in moving to Save the Children it is great to be part of such an ambitious purposeful led organisation.

How do you ensure diversity is taken into account in your IT recruitment?

Effective diversity in our recruitment at Save the Children is incredibly important. This includes ensuring we have a fair, equitable and transparent process in our recruitment; and we work with partners who have D&I approaches that align with Save the Children values.

Which technology are you currently most excited by, and why?

The entire T4D (Technology 4 Development) space is an incredibly exciting space that is leveraging innovative tech/digital/data to accelerate and change how humanitarian relief is delivered.

What would an outsider find the most surprising part of your job?

The most surprising aspect is how much digital, data and technology underpins everything we do at Save the Children across all our main value streams: Supporter, People and Partners.

What's your secret talent?

My secret talent is as a wannabe mixologist/bartender (at least I think I am any good at it!)

What makes you laugh?

Usually anything from watching stand-up to old Seinfeld reruns; and importantly having fun on a day to day basis at work!
