Lenovo released its first work-focused ThinkPad X1 Carbon ultrabook back in 2013. While the portable work machine was super powerful and featured a slick minimalist black design, its lack of a removable battery and hefty $1,299 upfront cost diminished its mainstream appeal.

One year on Lenovo has moved to fix these issues unveiling a brand new ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch at CES 2014 in Las Vegas. Despite featuring a similar design to its predecessor, the 2014 X1 Carbon features a host of under-the-hood upgrades differentiating it from the 2012 model.
