Q&A with Appdome, DevOps Excellence Awards winner
Appdome Mobile Defense Platform was judged to be the best security tool
Appdome won the Best DevOps Security Tool category in this year’s DevOps Excellence Awards with the Appdome Mobile Defense Platform. We asked Chris Roeckl, Appdome’s chief product officer, for his thoughts.
Chris joined Appdome in 2016 and has led its customer, sales, business development and marketing teams.
Why is DevOps important in the modern world?
DevOps is critical in today’s fast-paced digital landscape because it bridges the gap between development, operations, and security teams. It enables organisations to deliver software faster, more reliably, and with higher quality. For Appdome, DevOps is the foundation that allows us to continuously innovate and deliver advanced mobile app defence solutions without slowing down development cycles. It helps ensure that protecting mobile apps keeps pace with modern mobile threats, allowing enterprises to release protected apps at the speed of mobile.
How did you feel when you heard that your entry had won?
We were absolutely thrilled and honoured! Winning this award is a validation of the hard work, dedication, and innovation our team puts in every day. It also reinforces our belief that DevOps can be leveraged not just for speed and agility, but also as a powerful enabler of protection and trust in mobile apps and mobile businesses.
What do you think made your entry stand out?
We believe our entry stood out because Appdome uniquely brings DevOps principles to mobile app defence—what we call DevSecOps for mobile. Our no-code platform allows mobile developers and security teams to seamlessly integrate robust protections into apps in minutes, without slowing down release cycles. This alignment of speed, automation, and protection is crucial in today’s mobile-first world, and we think the judges recognised how impactful that is.
What does the win mean for your team, and your organisation? How will it help you?
For our team, this win is a huge morale boost and recognition of their relentless focus on innovation and excellence. For the organisation, it highlights our leadership in applying DevOps principles to solve critical mobile protection challenges. It also strengthens our credibility with customers, partners, and the broader market—showing that we’re not only a defence leader but also an enabler of modern, efficient software delivery practices. Most importantly, it reinforces our mission to help organisations protect their mobile apps and mobile businesses from today’s most sophisticated threats.
What does the future hold for your organisation - what are the priorities for the next 12 months?
The next 12 months are pivotal for us as we continue advancing our AI-native platform to meet the evolving needs of mobile businesses worldwide. Our priorities include deepening the AI-driven defences in our platform, making it even easier for enterprises to detect, prevent, and respond to emerging threats in real time. We’re focused on expanding the behavioural analytics and threat intelligence capabilities that power our ThreatScope™, Threat-Events™ and Threat Remediation Center, so mobile businesses can protect their apps and users with precision and speed.
Additionally, we’ll continue enhancing automation and integrations across CI/CD pipelines to allow mobile developers and security teams to implement protections without sacrificing agility. Everything we do is aimed at empowering organisations to protect their mobile apps, their users, and ultimately their mobile businesses—keeping them safe from cyberattacks while enabling continuous innovation.
